Interactive Fine Art
[ Individual Project ]
Project Overview:
It is the very first immersive work I created. This work is a 236 inches (6 meters) long, wooden tunnel that contains an overwhelming smell (crafted by myself), various visual stimuli, and a soundtrack. The guest is invited to lie down on a wooden platform, which allows them to be pulled in and out by two operators. During the pulling, the guest gets to smell the complicated scent, hear the melody and sounds, see the painted walls with photo-sensitive pigments, feel the textured paint, and watch a looped video. This experience evokes a sense of intimacy and loss by stimulating the four senses (smell, hearing, sight, and touch). Many guests reflected that they feel the time getting slower within the tunnel.
